Demographic Information (Census Data)

American Factfinder is the online tool from the Census Bureau to search for a variety of data for all geographic levels.

Select the State & County Quick Facts link for current estimates for your state.

Select the Ranking Tables option to view states ranked into selected demographic, social and economic characteristics.

Search the Data Sets option to retrieve detailed statistics from your state. [Select "State" under Geographic Type option]

Geographic/Topographic Information

The maps produced by DeLorme should prove among the most useful.  Using the Milner Catalog, perform an advanced search using the term "DeLorme" and the name of your state.  In addition to geographic information, gazetteer information may include: campgrounds, attractions, historic sites & museums, recreation areas, trails, freshwater fishing site & boat launches, canoe trips or scenic drives. Categories vary by state
"Zoom" into the state you have selected.  You can then specify different criteria and "Redraw" your map.  Categories include geology and transportation.

Outline Maps on File Print source 
Located in the Reference section on Floor 2 (REF G1046.A1 F3 2002). Includes loose-leaf reproducible "outline" maps of each state.

SimplyMap enables non-technical users to quickly create professional quality thematic maps and reports using extensive demographic, business and marketing data (Nielsen, Simmons, MRI and EASI). Although not required in order to use SimpleMap, a personal account is necessary to save your work.
